Tick-Tock, Depression and Hope

[Juusanbi no Poptart]

Sitting at the small table at the restaraunt, Zone happily gazed into Lucy's eyes as he slowly ate his food. This dinner was a celebration for Zone's purchasing of a house for the two of them, and eventually a baby, to live in.

Lucy was nervous. She hasn't been feeling good lately and she knew why. But she wasn't sure what to tell Zone. They both wanted a baby but they had just gotten a house. She took small bites of her food, feeling like she was going to puke it up any second now. They shouldn't call it morning sickness when you get it all day. She had made sure not to make a connection with Zonias tonight so she could keep this a surprise. She gave him a small smile and looked down at her food.

Frowning slightly as he noticed Lucy barely eating, ony pecking at her food, Zone worriedly asked "Are you feeling alright Lucy? If not, we can go home."

Lucy looked up at Zone and sighed. She took his hand gently. "We need to talk." she said, deciding she would put him through a little suspense while she tried to figure out how to tell him the big news.

Frowning worriedly, Zone asked "What is it? Did something happen?"

Lucy looked down, trying to figure out how to tell him. "Something did happen," she said slowly. "Something is happening." She looked up at him and gave him a crooked smile. "I'm pregnant."

Freezing in place as his mind sloowly processed the information, a large grin began to spread across Zone's face as he jumped up and hugged Lucy, saying "That's amazing." as he planted a kiss on Lucy's lips.

Lucy smiled before he kissed her. "Easy tiger. I'm only about 2 months along. But we've got ourselves a baby." she said softly.

Smiling, Zone said "It's... wow..." Zone said, ecstatic. "I'm going to be a father." Zone said.

Lucy smiled and placed a kiss on his lips. "I love you." she said softly.

Smiling, Zone said "I love you too."

*2 Months Later*

Lucy walked around the kitchen of their house, smiling as she cooked some food. Every once in a while, she would stop and place her hands on her stomach and tear up a little. Then at one point she just started crying.

Walking to the kitchen to make a sandwich, Zone immediately heard Lucy crying. Sprinting around the corner into the kitchen, he wrapped Lucy in a gentle, comforting hug. "Are you okay?" Zone asked worriedly.

Lucy nodded. "Its just...I'm going to get fat..." she said before bursting into sobs.

Gently rubbing Lucy's cheek, wiping her tears as he placed a kiss on her lips, Zone said "That just means that until the baby is born there will be more of you to love."

Lucy looked up at him as her tears started to stop. "Really?" she asked. "You don't care that your girlfriend is basically going to have a watermelon for a stomach?"

Smiling, ZOne said "Of course not.I will always love you, no matter how you look."

Lucy smiled and pressed her lips to Zone's.

Smiling as he returned the kiss, Zone wrapped his arms around Lucy, rubbing he back slowly as he comforted her.

*2 months later*

Lucy sat in the ultrasound room, gripping Zone's hand anxiously. Today was the day that they figured out if they were having a boy or a girl.

Smiling, ZOne gently rubbed the back of Lucy's hand with his thumb, calming her as he wrapped his arms around her, saying "It'll be fine Lucy."

[Liberty]

"I just hope the baby's alright." Lucy said softly, placing her hand on the much bigger bump.

Nodding, Zone rested his head atop Lucy's, inhaling slowly as he tried to calm her dwn, rubbing her back soothingly.

Suddenly the door swung open and a very good looking doctor smiled at the two. "Well hello Ms. Carmichael and Mr. Nytt. My name is Dr. Brandon and I will be running your ultrasound today." he said.

"Hello.." Lucy said. Dr. Brandon's smile grew and he sat on the stool that was opposite of Zone.

Smiling Zone said "Nice to meet you Doctor." As he said this, Zone hesitantly released Lucy from his grip, Keeping one arm around her back as he waiting for the doctor to begin the procedur.
